1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By registering for, participating in, or attending any SUTS Events tournament or showcase (“Event”), you (“Participant,” “Team,” “Player,” “Parent,” “Guardian,” or “Coach”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you are registering on behalf of a minor, you represent that you are the parent or legal guardian and agree to these terms on their behalf.
2. EVENT REGISTRATION
2.1 Registration Requirements
- All team registrations must be completed through sutsevents.com
- Registration requires full payment of entry fees unless alternative payment arrangements are approved in writing
- Team rosters must be submitted prior to the event with accurate player information
- Teams must meet age and grade eligibility requirements for their registered division
2.2 Payment Terms
- Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable except as outlined in Section 3
- Payment must be received in full before team participation is confirmed
- Late registrations may be subject to additional fees
- Returned checks or failed payment transactions will incur a $35 processing fee
2.3 Registration Confirmation
- Registration is complete only upon receipt of full payment and confirmation email from SUTS Events
- SUTS Events reserves the right to refuse or cancel any registration at its discretion
3. REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY
3.1 No Cash Refunds All registration fees are non-refundable. SUTS Events does not issue cash refunds under any circumstances, including but not limited to:
- Team cancellations for any reason
- Player injuries or roster changes
- Scheduling conflicts
- Weather-related concerns
- Travel issues or transportation problems
- Change of mind or team dissolution
3.2 Event Credit Policy If a team must cancel their registration, SUTS Events will issue a credit toward a future SUTS Event subject to the following conditions:
- Cancellations made 30+ days before the event: 100% credit toward future event
- Cancellations made 14-29 days before the event: 50% credit toward future event
- Cancellations made less than 14 days before the event: No credit issued
- Credits must be used within 12 months from the date of issuance
- Credits are non-transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash
- All credit requests must be submitted in writing to sutsreport@gmail.com
3.3 Event Cancellations by SUTS Events If SUTS Events cancels an event due to circumstances beyond our control (weather, facility issues, emergencies), teams will receive:
- 100% credit toward any future SUTS Event, OR
- The option to transfer registration to a rescheduled date for the same event
No cash refunds will be issued for event cancellations by SUTS Events. SUTS Events is not responsible for any travel, lodging, or other expenses incurred by participants.
3.4 Weather and Facility Issues
- Events may be shortened, rescheduled, or relocated due to weather or facility problems
- If an event is significantly shortened (less than 50% of scheduled games completed), SUTS Events may issue partial credit at its sole discretion
- Schedule modifications that do not prevent substantial event completion do not qualify for credits
3.5 No-Shows Teams that register but fail to attend without prior cancellation notification receive no credit toward future events.
4. ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE
4.1 Age and Grade Requirements
- Players must meet the age/grade requirements for their registered division
- Birth certificates or other proof of eligibility may be required
- Falsification of eligibility information will result in immediate disqualification and forfeiture of fees with no credit issued
4.2 Player Safety and Conduct
- All participants must comply with SUTS Events code of conduct
- Participants must have appropriate medical clearance to participate in athletic activities
- Use of performance-enhancing substances is strictly prohibited
4.3 Roster Regulations
- Teams may not add players to rosters after the published roster freeze deadline
- Guest players must be properly registered and documented according to tournament rules
5. ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY
5.1 Acknowledgment of Risk Basketball is a physical sport involving inherent risks including but not limited to: injury, illness, disability, or death. By participating, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
5.2 Release of Liability Participants, parents, and guardians release and hold harmless SUTS Events, its organizers, directors, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and facility owners from any and all liability for injuries, losses, or damages arising from participation in any Event, including but not limited to:
- Personal injury or property damage
- Negligence of other participants
- Facility conditions
- COVID-19 or other communicable diseases
5.3 Medical Treatment Authorization In the event of injury or medical emergency, you authorize SUTS Events staff to arrange for emergency medical treatment. You are responsible for all medical expenses incurred.
6. MEDIA RELEASE AND PUBLICITY
6.1 Photo and Video Rights By participating, you grant SUTS Events and its partners (including BallerTV and BallerTube) the perpetual, royalty-free right to use photographs, videos, livestreams, and recordings of participants for:
- Event coverage and highlights
- Marketing and promotional materials
- Social media content
- Website content
- Recruiting exposure platforms
6.2 Livestreaming and Broadcasting Events may be livestreamed through BallerTV or other platforms. Participation constitutes consent to be featured in live and recorded broadcasts.
6.3 Name and Likeness You grant permission to use participants’ names, images, and athletic performance information for promotional and recruiting exposure purposes.
7. CODE OF CONDUCT
7.1 Expected Behavior All participants, coaches, parents, and spectators must:
- Demonstrate sportsmanship and respect
- Follow instructions from event staff and officials
- Refrain from abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behavior
- Comply with facility rules and regulations
7.2 Prohibited Conduct
- Fighting, threatening, or physical altercations
- Verbal abuse toward officials, staff, or other participants
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Alcohol or illegal drug use on premises
- Gambling on event outcomes
7.3 Enforcement Violations may result in:
- Ejection from the event
- Suspension from future SUTS Events
- Forfeiture of registration fees with no credit issued
- Law enforcement involvement when appropriate
8. SCHEDULING AND COMPETITION FORMAT
8.1 Game Scheduling
- SUTS Events will make reasonable efforts to provide competitive matchups and appropriate scheduling
- Schedules are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances
- Teams are responsible for monitoring schedule updates
8.2 Competition Format
- SUTS Events reserves the right to modify tournament format, bracket structure, or division assignments to ensure competitive balance
- Minimum game guarantees will be honored unless event cancellation occurs
8.3 Facility Access
- Teams and spectators must comply with all facility rules
- Entry may be restricted based on facility capacity
- Admission fees may apply
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
9.1 Trademarks “SUTS Events,” logos, and branding are the property of SUTS Events and may not be used without written permission.
9.2 Event Content Unauthorized commercial recording, photography, or streaming of events is prohibited without prior written consent.
10. PRIVACY AND DATA COLLECTION
10.1 Information Collection SUTS Events collects participant information including names, dates of birth, contact information, and athletic data for:
- Event registration and administration
- College coach recruiting exposure
- Marketing communications
- Platform integration (BallerTube, BallerTV)
10.2 Data Sharing Information may be shared with:
- College coaches and recruiters
- Partner platforms and sponsors
- Facility operators
- Third-party service providers
10.3 Communications By registering, you consent to receive communications about SUTS Events, including promotional emails. You may opt out at any time.
11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- SUTS Events’ total liability shall not exceed the registration fee paid (in the form of credit only)
- SUTS Events is not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages
- SUTS Events is not responsible for travel expenses, lodging, or other costs incurred
12. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SUTS Events from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your participation in events
- Your violation of these terms
- Your violation of any law or third-party rights
- Actions of minor participants under your supervision
13. GENERAL PROVISIONS
13.1 Governing Law These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida without regard to conflict of law provisions.
13.2 Dispute Resolution Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Broward County, Florida, except that SUTS Events may seek injunctive relief in court.
13.3 Severability If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
13.4 Modifications SUTS Events reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
13.5 Entire Agreement These terms constitute the entire agreement between parties and supersede all prior understandings.
13.6 Force Majeure SUTS Events is not liable for failure to perform due to circumstances beyond reasonable control including natural disasters, pandemics, facility closures, or government restrictions.
